Kaléo shows the price of the alternative of Epipen: $4,500

As the public protest at the flying-up price of Epipens of Milan has struck extreme extent of excitement last fall, Ars has noted that there was the forthcoming competitor: Auvi-Q Kaléo. But we have been quite sure then that Kaléo wasn't going to offer an available alternative of an autoinjector of adrenaline, considering that the company has well registered history of a price gouging on saving drugs, also. Nevertheless, the price of Ovi-K can still send some jaws to a floor.

In the announcement on Thursday, the company has shown that Auvi-Q will have the announced market price in $4,500 for with two packages and will be available on February 14 to any who wants to buy that.

Auvi-Qs have originally entered in 2013, but have taken out from the market after dosage problems. Devices thin and rectangular, easy to slip in pockets and to provide bystry with voice system that messages through a saving injection of adrenaline. During their initial release Auvi-Qs have been listed within $200 for with two packages. By the beginning 2015 when they were pulled, that price has used up to $500, generally in step with Milan assessment.

The company also does the device to enter the cheap, older drug called by naloxone which completely changes deadly overdoses of opiate. As the country has transferred from epidemic of abuse of opiate and overdoses within last two years, Kaléo has raised the price of the device called by Evzio from $575 to $3,750.

For Auvi-Q the company guarantees that most of patients won't pay $4,500 from a pocket. Or the device will be covered with their insurance or the company, will offer it free of charge to those who have no insurance in general and has the income of a family of less than $100,000.

However pushing of the high announced market prices of insurers still has effect of increase in all-round prices of health care and insurance premiums.
Last week CVS and Impax Laboratories declared that they will provide Epipen alternative, the universal Adrenaclick version, for $109.99.
